The Nurse & Health Visitor is responsible for providing nursing services to the Institute including first aid and emerge treatment, the prevention of illness, the early detection and treatment of health problems and the promotion of good health well-being for the students and staff.

ITM has been established by the Cross River State Government (CRSG) of Nigeria in partnership with Highbury Coli Portsmouth. UK as part of a unique. transformational state wide Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TV Ecosystem project. CRSG has appointed Highbury to manage ITM to world-class standards.
The vision is to develop a world-cfass entrepreneurial polytechnic institute, the first of its kind in Nigeria. The Institute will h student success as its central mission and will focus on wealth creation, business formation/growth and employn outcomes to meet the needs of students and the local communities of Cross River State, Nigeria and beyond.
MAIN DUTIES
. Providing first aid and emergency care and treatment for students and staff.
. Practical emergency nursing such as treating bloodlftuid loss, suturing of deep wounds, good CPR/using a defibrill, immobilising fractures.
. Providing a confidential advice service. basic counsellingand drop-in health & welfare clinic.
. Ensuring care plans are developed as necessary including cases of asthma. epilepsy, diabetes and anaphylaxis.
. Administering medicines under protocol, keeping accurate dispensing records and maintaining all medical records, first aid kits.
. Evaluating and interpreting cumulati~e health data to develop an ITM health plan.
. Maintaining the stock in the treatment rooms and being responsible for the hygiene and tidiness of the area.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
. Good standard of education including GCSE (or equivalent) in MathslEnglish (Grades A 'to C).
. A professional nursing qualification resulting in the applicant being a registered nurse.
. Evidence of commitment to sell-development.
. Membership 01 the Nursing & Midwifery Council of Nigeria.
. Experience of working in a similar role.
. Excellent understanding o/Health, Safety and Well·being. ~ N
. Agood level of practical nursing skills.
. Excellent communication skills including sensitivity and basic counseling.
. Ability to effectively plan and prioritise workload. .
. Very good IT and administration skills to maintain medical and dispensing records.
. Understanding of safeguarding in the context of education.
. Ability to work as part of a team.
. Ability to work under pressure.
. Professional approach to work and appearance.
. Commitment to operating in a harmonious, safe and secure environment.
