A nurse put her expertise to work when she went into labor and delivered her own baby in her car outside her hospital.
Katie Michael and her husband George started driving to Pinnacle Health in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, on the evening Friday October 27 because they had a feeling their second-born was coming.
But her water broke minutes into the drive, which would have been 20 minutes if it weren't for rush hour.
Just as they were pulling up to the medical center 30 minutes later, Katie realized their baby girl wasn't going to wait - and she had to give birth in the car.
Despite never delivering a baby before, she acted as the midwife delivering her own baby while George ran inside for help.
Ella Katherine Michael was born healthy, weighing 7lbs 8oz at 5.25pm.
'It was about 25-30 minutes after my water broke that she decided she wanted to be here,' Katie, from Mechanicsburg, told Fox 43.
'I knew she was going to be born in the car because she started coming out.'
She added: 'I do a lot of the units in the hospital but L&D (labor and delivery) is not one of them.
'We're joking that I can add L&D now because I was my own L&D nurse.'
