The Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (Council) is a Parastatal of the Federal Government, established by Nursing and Midwifery Registration etc. Act. Cap. No. 143, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004. The Council is a body charged with the responsibility of regulating Nursing and Midwifery Education and Practice in its entire ramification in Nigeria.

As part of its statutory activities, the Council organizes a workshop biennially for current and prospective Examiners engaged in conducting and scoring of the professional examinations for nurses and midwives in Nigeria in order to build their capacity for effective assessment of candidates and proper conduct of the professional examinations towards producing the best nursing and midwifery professionals in the world.

2.0. WORKSHOP THEME:

The theme of the 2019 Examiners Workshop is "SUSTAINING QUALITY NURSING EDUCATION AND PRACTICE IN THE 21^ST CENTURY: THE PLACE OF PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION"

3.0. TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience will be:

• Provosts of Colleges of Nursing and Midwifery.
• Directors/Principals/Educators in Nursing and Midwifery institutions.
• Coordinators/Educators of Post Basic Nursing Programmes.
• Heads and Lecturers in Departments of Nursing Sciences in Nigeria Universities.
• Clinical Instructors, Preceptors and Clinicians in Corporate, Non-Governmental Organizations and Agencies.
• Desk Officers and Focal persons (who are Nurses) responsible for Indexing and Examinations in Nursing and Midwifery training institutions.

4.0. DATE OF THE WORKSHOP

The Examiners workshop is scheduled to hold in seven states as follows:

7	South South	Edo	Monday 22nd -  Friday 27th July, 2019

Participants are encouraged to attend the workshop at the nearby centre. The venue at each centre of the workshop will be communicated in due course.

5.0. WORKSHOP REGISTRATION FEE

• The workshop registration fee is Fifty Thousand Naira (N50,000.00).
• On-site registration at any of the Centres is Sixty thousand Naira (N60,000.00)
