You would recall that Nursingworld Nigeria has always been in the forefront fighting against the scorge and menace of these quacks on the nursing profession, granting interviews, putting up articles from our writers and majority of Nigerian Nurses who have had their fill over the actions of these individuals reflecting on Registered Nurses and Midwives.

A few weeks ago, social media handles like twitter, face book pages/groups and blogs were awash with pictures of a lady dressed in white kneeling on a mat for "delivarance" and another with a group of individuals proudly displaying a certificate bearing the following words:

That Capricon Medical Center located at No. 5, James Oyedepo Alausa Olambe Ogun State certifies that a "Miss Ifeoluwa Olawose" had "EXPOSURE" in AUXILIARY NURSING ASSISTANCE TRAINING for a period of 3 years and was certified to work under Registered Health Institutions and Registered Personel on the 28th Of May 2016.

Once more there was a huge outcry on social media pages concerning the continuos negative description of nurses shown in one of the pictures and the actions of private hospitals training and certifying such individuals as nurses for between 3 weeks to 1/2 years.

FINALLY IT SEEMED THAT THE NIGERIAN ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN NURSES AND MIDWIVES HAS HEARD THE CRIES OF REGISTERED NURSES AND MIDWIVES

The Ogun State NANNM chairperson Comrade Solarin Roseline Funmilayo led members of her cabinet and the Nigerian Police to close down Capricon Medical Center in Akute, a boarder town between Lagos and Ogun State for training auxiliary nurses.

It was reported that Comrade Solarin had became irked by the increasing training of quacks by private health facilities who later turned out to give nurses a bad public reputation as most Nigerians find it difficult to differentiate between a Registered Nurse and a quack.

Capricon Medical Center was tracked down after pictures taken from the graduation ceremony of an auxiliary nurse were shared online which later got it way to the hand of the Ogun State NANNM chairperson.

In a brilliant move following several attempts by Members the Ogun State NANNM Hospitals monitoring team and men of the Nigerian Police Force, Capricon Medical Center was finally shut down and sealed up, with the man behind this madness also arrested, though no auxiliary nurse was arrested as those who were at the facility at the time of the crackdown wore plain clothings and claimed to be patients.
