The Nigerian Nursing community yesterday welcomed two more professors in Nursing into its academic fold. Dr Okoronkwo Ijeoma and Mrs Anarado AN were yesterday  Appointed Professors of Nursing in the department of Nursing University of Nigeria, Nnsuka Enugu State

Dr. Mrs. Okoronkwo Ijeoma Lewechi.

 

According to the University's website Dr. Ijeoma Okoronkwo is a senior lecturer and the current head of the Department of Health Administration and Management, Faculty of Health Sciences and Technology, University of Nigeria Enugu Campus. She has a mix of expertise in Nursing, Health Services Management, Health Economics and Human Resources for Health with more than 20 years experience in the health care sector. She holds a PhD and MBA degrees in Management from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka; MSc Health Services Management and Health economics from University of London,   PGD Public Health from University of London and BSc Nursing (Education) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka.  Aside lecturing in  the Department of Health Administration and Management and Nursing Sciences in the  University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus she has a considerable consultancy experiences gained through working with health development partners in Nigeria  e.g. World Bank, PATHS.  She is also a senior researcher with the Health Policy Research Group, College of Medicine, University of Nigeria, Enugu Campus. 

 

She is currently the Nigerian Chapter President of Association of Nurses in AIDS Care (ANAC) and the Chairman, West African College of Nursing (WACN) Nigeria Chapter.
