Osinbajo Urges Better Equipment for Hospitals

As part of activities to promote women’s health, wife of the Vice President, Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo has urged both public and private sector to equip hospitals appropriately to enable medical doctors and other health care team meet the care needs of the citizens.
 
In an address at the launch of The Breast & Gynae Centre, an initiative of the Reddington Hospital in Lagos on Monday, Osibajo said with appropriate equipment in hospitals, medical doctors were better positioned to do the needful concerning the array of health challenges facing women in the 21st Century.
 
“As soldiers who defend and protect the populace at war need armunitions to succeeded, so do doctors who protect citizens against illness and diseases need equipment to work with,” she stressed.
 
At the launching of the centre, which brought together top women in the country, Osibajo affirmed that establishing the facility demonstrates Reddington Hospital’s readiness to promote women’s health.
 
The Chief Executive Officer of Reddington Hospital, Dr. Adeyemi Onabowale said women’s health was not being addressed in the country in line with internationally acceptable standards, hence, the need to build the facility, adding that The Breast & Gynae Centre, is a one-stop centre to tackle health challenges of women.
 
Reddington is providing high technology equipment at the centre and bringing a team of foreign expertise to match these technology. “The aim is to ensure that health care consumers get the best in Nigeria,” he said.
