President of the Pharmaceutical Association of Nigeria Pharmacy, Ahamed Yakassai, has said that the Association has been upholding a systematic approach to improved health of individuals, communities and the nation by being in the vanguard of public health issues in the country, in various locations all over Nigeria.
He said the body is ever committed to the entrenchments of ideal that would advance the practice of pharmacy in Nigeria.
Yakassai disclosing this on Tuesday during the 36th annual conference of the Pharmaceutical Association of Pharmacists, which held at the Eliel Centre in Jos the Plateau State capital. Speaking also at the occasion, national chairman of Association of Pharmaceutical Pharmacist of Nigeria, Pharm. Kelong Albert, disclosed that the Association is conducting a “mapping out” of all community pharmacies in Nigeria to enhance to serve as a compendium for engagement with development partners.
According to him, “In conjunction with Pharmacists Council and Shyne and Chlone, we are conducting mapping of all community pharmacies in Nigeria to enhance PIC engagement with development partners.”
He maintained that the Association is collaborating for effective regulation and non-criminalization of innocent members during routine inspection and enforcement in the country.
Plateau State governor, Barr Simon Lalong, who was represented by his, Deputy Prof. Sunny Tyoden, said the rescue administration led by Barr. Simon Lalong has established the Primary Healthcare Board in a bid to address the problems of community health needs of the people, adding that the administration is committed in training and re-training of health personnel in the state.
