The under listed project staff opportunities are available in the Vector Control Research Unit of the Malaria Research

Program at the Nigerian Institute of Medical Research.

1. POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCH POSITION

a Qualification:

• A PhD in Medical or Molecular Entomology, Parasitology, Zoology or Applied Biology.

• PhD must have been awarded not earlier than 2 years.

• Experience in Bioinformatics and a working knowledge with insects and mosquitoes in particular will be an added advantage. Candidate must be < 40 years.

b. Duty:

• The successful candidate will coordinate an external funded Malaria Entomology Research Project and report to the Deputy Director (Research) Public Health.

• Assist in the development and submission of research proposals for funding

• Establish his/her own research pathway within the research unit

c. Remuneration:

• Salary will be equivalent to CONHESS 9 consolidated salary scale.

• Other benefit: Full sponsorship to attend a local and an International conference annually

d. Duration:

3 years (Renewable subject to availability of funds)
