The U. S. Pharmacopeial Convention (USP) is seeking qualified candidates to fill the position below, which will be based in Lagos, Nigeria:
Position: Program Coordinator
Location: Lagos
Summary of the Position
Working under the direction and guidance of a Technical Specialist, the Program Coordinator would be responsible for coordinating and administratively supporting the Nigeria USP-PQM program. He/she will coordinate Nigeria . USP-PQM framework and support the program development and effective implementation to meet its set goals and objectives. He/she will guide and facilitate the deliveries of the USP/PQM project by monitoring progress and results. The incumbent will coordinate, track, and facilitate the progress of PQM-Nigeria program activities to ensure timely, accurate, and efficient execution of USAID priority programs as well as helping with timely and high quality reporting to USAID. Roles and Responsibilities:
• Assists Technical Specialist in their various functions
• Follows up with the partners on the different projects
• Writes reports on the progress of different projects.
• Works with the COP on the implementation of the QAP policy in Nigeria
• Works with COP on the development of the NAFDAC academy
• Works with the COP on the coordination of the Nigerian Academics in curriculum review
• Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements
Education and Experience:
• University Degree required, preferably in Pharmacy, Chemistry or any other related field.
Experience:
• At least three (3) years of experience of administrative experience with at least 1 year of experience with program management support and administration for global health programs or large-scale, international development assistance programs: or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):
• Demonstrates effective time management and prioritization skills
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent presentation and reporting skills
• Comfortable working with internal and external professionals
• Demonstrated ability to support implementation of multiple projects in a timely manner
• Advanced computer competence (MS Office programs, MS Project or similar)
• Prior USAID experience in global health programming and knowledge of USAID rules and regulations preferred
• In-depth knowledge on project management and development issues.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral): sensitivity to and responsiveness to all partners, donors and program staff.
• Excellent analytical skills: mature judgment combined with a proactive, energetic approach to problem solving.
• Proficient in English language (written and spoken).
