Speaking during the protest which took place at the two Federal Teaching Hospitals in the state, spokesperson of the unions and Chairman of NUAHP, Comrade Obiefuna Okeke accused the Federal Ministry of Health of insensitivity to the plight of the health workers.

He listed the many ‘sins’ of the ministry of health against the workers to include, non-payment of 2015 and 2016 promotion arrears to the unions; horizontal ‘stagnation in promotion of workers; non-promotion of the union members to the rank of director; non- release of 2016 Junior to Senior Staff Conversion Results/Payment of Arrears, among others.
