The Pharmaceutical Society has upgraded it’s medicine information centre to meet more health care challenges. The news centre was christened National Drug and Poisons and Information, Emergency Response and Research Centre.
The Chairman of the PSN Drug Information Project, John Nwaiwu, at a press briefing on Monday, said the centre which would be inaugurated on Thursday in Lagos would offer a toll-free line service for members of the public. “With this centre, the issue of drug abuse and suicide will be addressed. It is going to be a toll-free line, one per state and the FCT, making it easy for all Nigerians to access.

“Through the centre, the PSN will employ competent personnel that will counsel, advise, make referrals and work with every group that has business with emergency. We are poised to take the health sector to the next level,” Nwaiwu said. He added that the centre would offer information, identify drug and substance abuse, as well as prepare quarterly report of drug and poison-related problems.
