The newly upgraded College of Health Science and Technology Jega, in Kebbi State has been adjudged the best in North West part of the country. Its provost,  Alhaji Aminu Muhammed Dakingari disclosed this in an interview with Caliphate Trust. He said: “In the next five years we will rank among the best in the country. Presently the institution is the best in the North West our performances have proved this.”

 

He added that the school has highly qualified teaching staff. “Many of them are have postgraduate degrees and are studying for their PhD. In every examination we get nothing less than 90 percent success,” he said. He said because of its upgrade from the School of Health Technology to College of Heath and Technology it would need more academic staff, classrooms, hostels, lecture theatres, vehicles and other infrastructure. “We cannot just upgrade the school without increasing in the facilities. Many courses are also expected to be introduced. Now we will start running courses like X-ray technician, Dental technician and Nutrition”. He said given the new status the school is now qualified to receive grant from Tertiary Education Fund.
