Niger State Government says it has spent N787 million in the revitalization of the health sector with special attention on Colleges of Nursing Sciences in Bida, Minna and Kontagora.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Abubakar Sani Bello in a statement yesterday in Minna, quoted the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health , Dr. Makusidi Muhammad as saying that effort led to the full accreditation of School of Nursing Bida, 42 years after its establishment.

The statement further said the accreditation has brought about increment in the number of students to be admitted into the schools which will reduce the hardship faced by young Nigerlites seeking for admission in such schools outside the state. It will also improve the availability of manpower in health care facilities across the state .
It also stated that the accreditation of the schools has now been recognized and is presently hosted in the international website of the Nurses and Midwifery, adding that the school of Nursing Bida has been chosen to be among the 6 schools in Nigeria to pilot the HND program for Nurses while that of Minna is among those schools to handle special training for special students.
It further explained that, Government's intervention included recruitment of professional nurse tutors, infrastructural and instructional materials procured and that admission forms are already on sale for 2018/2019 academic year in the Colleges including that of Kontagora.
