Sokoto Gets N3bn Items to Fight Malaria

Items worth N3 billion have been procured to tackle malaria in Sokoto State, just as the state government says it is working to achieve the control of malaria by 2025.
 
The state Health Commissioner, Dr Balarabe Kakale who disclosed this while speaking on the ongoing fight against malaria in the state, added, ‘The global target for the elimination of the disease is 2030, while the state is targeting the elimination of the disease by 2025.”
 
He said  the antimalarial  items which  included three million insecticide treated nets, insecticides and sprayers, among others ,were purchased by the Federal  Government, Sokoto State Government and  Development Partners  including  USAID, Presidential Malaria Initiative and the Federal Ministry of Health, with the state government contributing N300 million and the others N 2.7 billion.
