The Taraba State Ministry of Health in collaboration with National Malaria Elimination Programme (NMEP) and Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has concluded the distribution of over two million treated mosquito nets to every household in the state.

 

In its bid to eliminate malaria, the ministry has also concluded house-to-house mobilisation and registration of households in the 16 local government local areas of the state.

 

The Guardian learnt that the move led to massive turn out, as every household showed interest to be captured in order to access the second batch of free treated mosquito nets to be distributed soon.

 

Speaking yesterday in Jalingo, the state’s Malaria Programme Manager, Kachalla Tanko, said no fewer than 743 distribution points have been created across the state for easy distribution of the mosquito nets. Tanko, who attributed the success of the exercise to training of mobilisers by the ministry and partners, said 336 mobilisers were trained for the programme.
