The Chairman of the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital branch of the Medical and Dental Consultants Association of Nigeria (MDCAN), Dr. Nicholas Baamlong, has called on the federal government to
intensify its effort in equipping public hospitals in order to discourage some high profile individuals from seeking medical treatment abroad.

Speaking at the MDCAN Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Gwagwalada on Saturday, Baamlong, said the National Assembly should also come up with a legislation that would prevent such individuals from seeking medical treatment abroad, after all the necessary facilities have been provided all the government hospitals across country.
