Please join the Global Initiative for Children’s Surgery on Thursday 4 June 2020 at 15:00 London UK time for the following online session:
Action Planning Forum:
Mitigating the Impact of COVID-19 on Children’s Surgery
The current pandemic threatens to divert valuable resources from children’s surgery to other pressing public health and clinical priorities. We ask our colleagues from around the world what the biggest challenges they are facing or have faced with regard to the safe and timely delivery of children’s surgical care, and what GICS can do to help.
Meant to be a brainstorming session to guide further action, 2-minute “lightening presentations” during the 90-minute session will allow time for discussion about issues such as:
- What is the current and projected impact in various regions of the world?
- What are local strategies and challenges?
- What can GICS and others do to help with disruptions to essential surgical services for children unable to access care?
- What are the best roles for telemedicine for education and outreach?
- What is needed to help protect health care workers?
Many thanks to LifeBox for helping us host this event.
