Categories of Academic Staff and Qualifications
- In all cases, candidates are required to possess appropriate skills and orientation, especially digital skills in their respective disciplines with a strong bias for research.
- Professor: Must possess a PhD with specialization in the intended discipline, with a track record of academic and administrative leadership, mentoring, relevant publications in local and international reputable journals etc. and twelve (12) years post-qualification, full-time relevant teaching and research experience.
- Associate Professor (Reader): same as for the position of a professor but with a minimum of 9 years post qualification, full-time, relevant teaching and research experience.
- Senior Lecturer: Same as for a professor, but with a minimum of 6 years post-qualification, full-time, relevant teaching and research experience.
- Lecturer |: Must possess a PhD degree from a reputable university, with a minimum of 3 years, post-qualification teaching experience, and evidence of scholarly publications.
- Lecturer Il: PhD degree from a reputable university. This is the entry point for fresh Ph.D holders hence the candidate will not be evaluated on the publication criteria: however, evidence of scholarly publication is an added advantage. A master's degree holder in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification, full-time, teaching experience is eligible to apply.
- Assistant Lecturer: Candidate must possess a good master's degree in the relevant discipline with a CGPA suitable to qualify the candidate for a PhD programme. The candidate must in addition satisfy their department that they possess the requisite skills for a sustained career in academia.
- Assistant Librarian: Candidate must possess a master's degree in Library & Information Science plus NYSC.
- Graduate Assistant (Library): The candidate must possess a good honours degree in Library & Information Science (1st Class or 2nd Class Upper Division) and NYSC. The candidate must, in addition, satisfy the department that he/she possesses the requisite skills in Information Technology.
Other Categories of Staff
Assistant Chief Laboratory Technologist
Candidate must possess a BSc. or Masters in Laboratory Technology plus at least 6 or 9 years Post-qualification congnate experience respectively.
Laboratory Technologist 11
Candidate must possess an HND in Laboratory Technology, an AIST, ANIST, FIELT or equivalent professional qualifications.
Staff Nurse 1
Candidate must possess a B.Sc (Nursing) or NRN plus NRM or SRA plus at least 3 years post-registration congate experience.
