Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist

Job Summary

  • We seek a proactive, well-spoken, and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) to serve as a Clinical Nurse Case Manager (CNCM).
  • The role requires managing and coordinating personalised (Concierge) healthcare plans for Insured, Corporate and High-Net-Worth Clients, ensuring timely access to Quality Care, and serving as a trusted Clinical Advisor.  
  • The role requires working closely with a network of top-tier Specialists, overseeing Care Continuity to provide round-the-clock support to International Private Medical Insurance (IPMI) policyholders.  
  • The ideal candidate must demonstrate proven Clinical Excellence, High Intellectual Capacity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, Customer-Service-Driven environment

 

Key Responsibilities  

  • Provides and coordinates Clinical Nursing Care and Concierge Medical Services
  • Responds to Helpline/Call Centre calls to conduct structured Triage and assess Patient Care needs
  • Specifies detailed Care and Management Plans based on Clinical Diagnoses
  • Evaluates medical records and hospitalisation requests for coverage eligibility under IPMI policies
  • Act as Liaison between Policyholders, Healthcare Providers, and Insurers to facilitate Care Pathways
  • Monitors and reports to the Medical Director on the inpatient care of hospitalised patients
  • Maintains accurate Clinical Case Records and generates reports on Clinical Outcomes
  • Ensures secure, compliant and accurate Patient Medical Records
  • Provides Domiciliary Service in special cases requiring Home Nursing Support
  • Facilitates Pre-Authorisation requests for Procedures, Diagnostics, and Specialist Referrals.
  • Provides Health Education guidance to Policyholders on available treatment options
  • Monitors ongoing treatments for Medical Necessity and Policy Compliance
  • Ensures Case Management complies with Insurer and International Quality Assurance Standards

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BNSc): Second-Class Upper Division with a record of achievement
  • Valid Practicing License with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN)
  • Minimum 4 years experience: 2 years in a Tertiary Care ICU, Care Coordination, or Case Management
  • Confident and Assertive: willing to work long hours, independently in an Ultra-Modern environment
  • Proven Managerial Experience: leading Clinical Teams or Coordinating Multi-Disciplinary Care
  • Experience with IPMIs (BUPA, Cigna, Allianz) or International Health Insurance preferred
  • Additional Certifications (BLS/ACLS) are an advantage
  • Postgraduate qualification(s): MPH or MBA is an advantage

 

Key Behaviors:

  • Strong Clinical Assessment and Clinical Diagnostic skills
  • Adept at recognising a “Sick Patient” for prompt intervention and referral
  • Excellent knowledge of local and international Treatment Protocols
  • Strong Networks within the health care space (Specialists, Clinicians and Providers)
  • Tech-savvy, with proficiency in required software (M365, EMR, PACS, etc).
  • Practice of Comprehensive Patient Care Documentation and Administration
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills (well-spoken, articulate, and confident)
  • Ability to work under pressure, calm in critical situations, and provide dependable 24/7 support
  • Highly proactive, resourceful, and dedicated to delivering personalised patient care.

 

Additional Information

  • Normal hours of work are 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday to Friday
  • CNCM will be required to work outside these hours, as may be necessary, without extra remuneration
  • Position is based in Lagos and is offered permanently
