MSION’s goal is to meet the needs of underserved Nigerians and dramatically improve access and use of a range of reproductive health services. MSI Nigeria Reproductive Choices is part of Marie Stopes International’s Global Partnership which is in over 37 countries worldwide and it operates in Nigeria through six service delivery channels.

Job Description

  • As a Clinical Services Provider at MSI, your role is pivotal in delivering high-quality reproductive health services to patients in the assigned Clinic of Excellence.
  • Upholding clinic policies, principles, and applicable laws, you will provide therapeutic patient care, ensure a safe and therapeutic environment, and contribute to the development of nursing care within the clinic.
  • Your attention to detail, excellent provider-client interaction skills, and good communication abilities will be instrumental in delivering services and documenting patient information accurately. With a minimum of 3 years of post-graduationexperience in a midwifery position, you possess the necessary expertise to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage clinical supplies and equipment effectively. Your commitment to extraordinary customer relations, quality care service, and the well-being of clients aligns with MSI Nigeria mission to enable individuals to have children by choice, promoting a culture where abuse is not tolerated and safeguarding clients from harm.

Responsibilities

  • To give high quality MSI Nigeria’s focused core clinical services in the assigned Clinic of excellence.
  • To uphold Marie Stopes Clinic policies and procedures, principles of responsibilities, and applicable state, federal and local laws.
  • Exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, and co-workers.
  • Show courtesy, compassion, and respect to all within the clinic environment, providing a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
  • To participate fully in MSI Nigeria Institutional strengthens and Capacity Building activities where appropriate.

Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Conform to the critical service standards established for the clinic and the medical team.
  • Provide therapeutic patient care in accordance with the patients care code, established by the physician, within scope of practice.
  • Assist with and contributing to development of nursing care within the clinic.
  • Deliver requested service while counselling patients to full knowledge of service to be provided before uptake.
  • Assisting physician or other medical staff personnel with examinations and treatments by providing support to patient, chaperoning and other assistance as directed or required.
  • Within scope, evaluates patient's condition by observing signs, symptoms, and reactions to therapy, to identify unexpected and/or significant findings, initiate appropriate emergency procedures, as necessary.
  • Ensure proper management and maintenance of all clinical supplies and equipment.
  • Documents patient signs, symptoms, observations, and therapeutic treatments to patient's medical record.
  • Dispense prescribed drugs to patients with written and verbal instructions on usage.
  • Ensures cleanliness of nursing module, patient room, and environment and proper functioning of patient care equipment by visual inspection, routine testing, and other related methods.
  • Ensure proper sterilisation of clinic instruments daily.
  • Proper supervision of the IPO in maintaining the Infection Prevention policy.
  • Support in ensuring the adequate and time requisition of items, stock management and record keeping.

Communication and Administration:

  • Ensure formal communications with the various health partners are properly documented.
  • Follow up on all client complaints relating to any of the MSI Nigeria services and make recommendations.
  • Make proper use of available information systems in MSI to facilitate service delivery & trainings.
  • Assist the team with interviews relating to clinical issues to protect MSI Nigeria reputation.
  • Collate information/data on services provided in the field.
  • Manage and properly account for all MSI Nigeria resources and properties at the clinic.
  • Support the marketing team by providing technical advice to clients at the small and large group activations periodically of all service numbers reported into CLIC with regional support team members.
  • Check the data storage system to ensure that the forms are complete, chronological, andstored in a fire and tamper proof cabinet.
  • Validate all client records with daily summary sheets and CLIC records for correctness and consistency.
  • Ensure overall DQA score of 100%

Qualifications

  • Possess a minimum 3 years post-graduation experience in a Bedside Nursing/Midwifery position in an established healthcare system.
  • Experience with working in sexual and reproductive health, especially family planning will be an added advantage.
  • Current NMCN License
  • BCLS Certification.
  • Must have proven experience to working with minimum supervision.
  • Excellent provider-client interaction skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Articulate and analytical with attention to detail
  • Possess working knowledge of health delivery system in Nigeria.
