Job Description
The Radiology Consultant will be responsible for providing expert diagnostic imaging services, interpreting radiological findings, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
He/She must have a strong background in radiology, excellent interpersonal skills, and a commitment to advancing medical imaging practices.
Responsibilities
- The Radiologist will report to the Clinical Director. The Radiologist is responsible for clinical concerns in the Hospital and presents such to the Management team, making presentations at Clinical Governance meetings, and HODs meetings. His/Her responsibilities will include:
- Evaluating patients’ medical histories ensures that the various medical imaging procedures will not harm them.
- Suggesting alternative medical imaging techniques when necessary.
- Informing patients about the medical imaging process.
- Using devices such as computer tomography (CT) scanners and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machines.
- Performing or directing radiology staff to carry out image-guided diagnostic procedures.
- Working with radiology lab technicians to perfect image quality.
- Interpreting the results from diagnostic imaging procedures to determine diagnoses.
- Communicating and discussing results and diagnoses with physicians.
- Compiling written reports of results and diagnoses.
- Following medical protocols for resuscitation, bleeding, infection, or other emergencies, when necessary.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or physical sciences or Medical degree (MBBS/MD)
- Fellow West African College of Surgeons (WACS-Radiology)/ National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria.
- Minimum of five (5) years of working experience specializing in radiology.
- Valid Practicing License.
- Proficient in general radiology techniques, including X-ray, Ultra Sound, CT, MRI, and Mammogram.
