Job Title: Dental Nurse

Job Summary
- The Dental Nurse plays a key role in supporting dentists in delivering high-quality oral healthcare services.
- This role involves assisting with clinical procedures, patient care, sterilization, and infection control while ensuring a clean and welcoming environment in the clinic.
- The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, and committed to patient safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a wide range of dental procedures including restorations, extractions, scaling, and surgeries.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment in compliance with infection control standards.
- Prepare treatment rooms before and after each patient, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
- Provide chairside support to dentists, including suctioning, mixing materials, and instrument handling.
- Offer reassurance and information to patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care as instructed by the dentist.
- Ensure proper inventory management of dental supplies and report shortages as needed.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations within the clinic.
- Collaborate with the front desk and other staff members to provide seamless patient care.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Dental Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Must be registered with the appropriate regulatory body (e.g., Dental Therapists Registration Board of Nigeria - DTRBN).
- 2 - 5 years of experience in a dental setting is preferred.
- Good knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and infection control practices.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Empathetic, patient-focused, and professional demeanor.
- Good organizational and multitasking abilities.
