THE VACANT POSITIONS:
COLLEGE OF MEDICINE AND HEALTH SCIENCES

Professor
a. Candidates must possess the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS, MBChB) degree from recognized Universities in their areas of specialization with at least Twelve (12) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions. Possession of additional relevant qualifications will be an added advantage.
b. The candidate must have spent a minimum of four (4) of those years as a Reader.
c. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic and research leadership.
d. Supervised to completion a minimum of five (5) postgraduate students, including at least two (2) doctoral students.
e. Candidates must show evidence of at least twenty (20) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals, which must include Scopus or ISI indexed journals.
f. Candidate must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and other relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

Reader
a. Qualifications are the same as (1) above, but with at least Ten (10) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions.
b. Candidate must have spent a minimum of four (4) of those years as Senior Lecturer.
c. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic and research leadership.
d. Supervised to completion a minimum of three (3) postgraduate students, including at least one (1) doctoral student.
e. Candidates must possess at least fifteen (15) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals, which must include Scopus or ISI indexed journals.
f. Candidate must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and other relevant professional bodies.

Senior Lecturer
a. Qualifications are the same as (1) above, but with at least eight (8) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions.
b. Candidate must have spent a minimum of three (3) of those years as Lecturer I.
c. Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic and research leadership.

Lecturer I
a. Candidates must possess the Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS, MBChB) degree from recognized Universities, postgraduate fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (NPMCN), or the West African College of Physicians (FWACP), or the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), or its equivalent in their specialization.
b. A minimum of at least five (5) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
c. Candidate must be registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and other relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

Non-medically qualified:
a. Candidates should be holders of B.Sc., BMLS, M.Sc., and Ph.D. degrees in core areas of departmental fields of study from recognized Universities.
b. Must have at least three (3) years of teaching, research and administrative experience in tertiary institutions.
c. A minimum of five (5) scholarly publications in reputable local and international journals.
d. Must be registered with relevant professional bodies, where applicable.

REQUIREMENTS (Consultants)

  • Applicants must be fully registered with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
  • Evidence of having completed NYSC is mandatory.
  • Success at the Part II Examination of either the West African or National Postgraduate Colleges is mandatory.
  • Entry level is CONMESS 06/04 (Dual Appointment), with 10% advantage over recently approved Federal Government wage template.

Assistant Lecturer
a. Candidates should be holders of Master’s degree in the relevant field from an accredited and Senate-recognized institution.
b. Must be registered with the relevant professional body, where applicable.
c. Must be registrable for a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program.

Technologists
a. Candidates must have earned B.Sc., B.Tech, BMLS., M.Sc., M.Tech. degrees in relevant fields (Haematology, Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Chemical Pathology, Histopathology) from an accredited and Senate-recognized institution.
b. Must be registered with the relevant professional council or body, where applicable.

Nurses

  • Senior Nursing Officers must possess a Bachelor of Nursing Science (B.NSc.)
  • Not less than Second Class Lower Division
  • Must have completed one-year postgraduate internship
  • Must possess a current practice license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
  • Possession of National Youth Service Certificate is mandatory
    Salary: CONHESS 09/01
    Special consideration will be given to those with additional qualifications in Anaesthesia, Perioperative Nursing, Nephrology, and Intensive Care Nursing.
