Basic Medical Sciences: Human Physiology, Human Anatomy, Medical Biochemistry.

Basic Clinical Sciences: Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Medical Microbiology and Parasitology, Haematology and Blood Transfusion, Chemical Pathology and Immunology, Histopathology and Forensic.

Clinical Sciences: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obs and Gynaecology, Anaesthesia, Psychiatry, Community Medicine, Ear Nose and Throat (ENT), Radiology

Medical Laboratory Science: Medical Laboratory Science.

Nursing Science: Nursing.

Pharmaceutical Sciences: Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacy Practice, Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmaceutics and Pharmaceutical Technology, Pharmaceutical Microbiology and Biotechnology, Pharmacology and Toxicology.

Radiography & Applied Health Science: Radiography, Nutrition and Dietetics

Veterinary Medicine: Veterinary Anatomy, Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, Veterinary Microbiology, Veterinary Parasitology.

Academic Staff Requirements & Requirements by Rank

Professor:

Must already be a Professor.

Minimum of 20 publications, with at least 16 in print (including 4 in foreign indexed journals across at least 3 different reputable outlets).

Evidence of supervision to completion of 3 Masters and 1 PhD degree.

Reader / Associate Professor:

Must already be a Reader / Associate Professor.

Must possess a PhD in a relevant field.

Outstanding teaching experience in a university.

Minimum of 15 publications in reputable international and national journals.

Record of supervising PhD and Masters students.

Senior Lecturer:

PhD in the relevant field from a recognized institution.

Minimum of 6 years post-qualification teaching and research experience.

Minimum of 10 publications in reputable journals with evidence of continuous research.

Ability to supervise postgraduate students.

Lecturer I:

PhD in the relevant field with 3 years teaching experience and 2 journal publications; OR

PhD with professional registration plus 2 published journal articles; OR

Masters degree with 6 years teaching experience plus 5 journal articles (3 of which must be published).

Lecturer II:

PhD in the relevant field; OR

Masters degree with 2 journal publications and at least 3 years post-qualification teaching and research experience at the university level.

Assistant Lecturer:

Good second class honours degree in the relevant field plus a Masters degree.

B. Non-Teaching Staff Positions & Qualifications

Medical Officer:

MBBS degree.

1 year NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Pharmacy Intern:

B.Sc. (Pharm) with full registration with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).

1 year NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Medical Laboratory Scientist:

Good first degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLS).

Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) and a current practicing license.

1 year NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.

Medical Laboratory Technician:

Medical Laboratory Technician Certificate.

Registration with the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
