A reputable, dynamic and leading NHIS accredited National Health Maintenance Organization with Headquarters in Abuja is in need of the service of result oriented, proactive, knowledgeable and diligent individual to fill the position below:

Job Title: Head, Medical & Quality Assurance Department

Location: Abuja, Nigeria

Background

  • We are looking for an experienced Medical Doctor with strong administrative skills to Manage and Run the day to day activities of our Claims Management Unit, the Providers Network Administration Unit and the Call Centre Unit in the Medical and Quality Assurance Department.
  • To be successful in this role, the candidate should have a deep understanding of all administrative procedures relating to the roles in a Health Maintenance Organization and posses considerable knowledge of the Health Insurance industry in Nigeria.
  • Ultimately, the candidate will be responsible for making sure that the operations of the three Units under the department is well managed and coordinated. All these functions would be performed under the immediate supervision of the Deputy General Manager/Head of Operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and Supervise the daily activities of the Units to ensure optimal performance and compliance with the Operational Guidelines of NHIS.
  • Coordinate and Monitor the activities of the Claims Unit, Providers Network Administration as well as the Call Centre.
  • Actively participate in the smooth operation of the organization’s Telemedicine platform and the Pre-booking system.
  • Coordinate and ensure the development of electronic data and backup data for all the activities in the Department.
  • Review and possibly record all calls, communications and the pre-authorization approvals given by the Utilization Management Officers in the Call Center to set high benchmark for performance and minimize abuse and ensure the genuineness of all approvals.
  • Ensures quality health care delivery to enrollees by establishing high quality working relationship and institute continuous monitoring and evaluation of healthcare facilities.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Applicant must possess a Medical Degree (MBBS)
  • Up-to-date registration and license from the MDCN
  • Post-Graduate Medical and Dental qualification, Certification by WACP or equivalent body or Specialist training in a chosen area of medicine are added advantages.
  • Possession of MBA certificate will be an added advantage.
  • Applicant must have minimum of 7 years Post NYSC experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a similar role
  • Experience in the usage of computers and other relevant software packages is desirable.
