About the Job

  • Starcare International Hospital is seeking highly skilled and compassionate ICU Nurses to join our critical care team.
  • The ideal candidates will be experienced in delivering advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in a high-intensity environment. As an ICU Nurse, you will play a key role in monitoring, treating, and supporting patients requiring intensive care, while working closely with doctors and specialists to provide top-tier patient outcomes.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
  • Monitor patient vitals, administer medications, and manage life-support equipment.
  • Respond promptly to changes in a patient’s condition and intervene when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document all nursing interventions.
  • Collaborate with physicians, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and infection-controlled ICU environment.
  • Educate and support patients’ families with updates and emotional support.
  • Adhere strictly to hospital protocols, nursing standards, and patient safety regulations.

 

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid license to practice in Nigeria.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of hands-on ICU or critical care nursing experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of ICU equipment and procedures (ventilators, infusion pumps, monitors, etc.).
  • Strong clinical judgment and quick decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.
  • Flexibility to work in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.

 

Desirable:

  • Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN or equivalent).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Previous experience in a multi-specialty or tertiary care hospital.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
