Faculty: Dental Sciences

Details

The lecturing position will be in the following Departments:

  • Department of Child Dental Health
  • Department of Preventive Dentistry
  • Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
  • Department of Restorative Dentistry.

Requirements

Candidates applying for this position are expected to possess either:

  • A first Degree with a minimum of Second Class (Upper Division) and a Doctorate Degree in their respective field from recognized Universities with at least three (3) years of teaching and research experience since becoming a Lecturer II in a University or comparable Institution of Higher Learning along with at least 4 publications in reputable and internationally-indexed peer reviewed journals and other verifiable outlets (of which he/she must be the first author in at least one), OR;
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS MBChB) or Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS / BChD) from recognized Universities, a Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria or the West African College of Physicians (FWACP) or West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) in their area of specialisation.
  • He/She also must be a registered Medical Practitioner with the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council. Possession of additional relevant qualification and/or publication(s) in peer reviewed journals will be an added advantage.
  • Experienced individuals in professional practice outside the university system/research institutions but with a strong interest in the academics and effective teaching and research capacity, a good number of publications in high-impact national and international journals, and possessing PhD degree with at least 5-years of post-doctoral experience are also eligible to apply.
  • Candidates must be individuals with deep commitment to developing high-level research, grantsmanship. teaching and leadership skills.
