Job Description

  • The malaria program volunteers will be supervised by the State Coordinator but will work directly with State Malaria Technical Lead (STML) and the Monitoring and Evaluation/Health System Strengthening officer.
  • Their responsibilities will include supporting the PMI-S technical team in its daily operations such as planning, implementation and coordination of activities.
  • The volunteers will therefore provide assistance and direct support to the Malaria Case Management & M&E teams.
  • This volunteering will provide individuals with the opportunity to gain experience and skills in the following areas depending on their core competencies and approved volunteering assignment:
  • Malaria surveillance, monitoring and evaluation
  • Malaria service delivery
  • Health systems strengthening, including program management and coordination, especially as it relates to malaria control.

MSH does not pay volunteers. However, MSH will ONLY be responsible for volunteers’ travel costs for project related travels:

  • Support field and facility visits and participate in data review meetings across LGAs and health Facilities.
  • Delivery of training materials and other logistics to LGAs
  • Support the review of data entries and running of data quality checks on DHIS2 and provide timely  feedback to the LGAs and State team
  • Support routine update of project databases including reports from monthly supervisory Visits (DVM and trainings across the LGAs
  • Support the planning and coordination of community-based activities such as Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention and iCCM
  • Support the documentation of proceedings from meetings including minutes and action plans.
  • Support timely collation of retirements' supporting documents from the LGA and State offices and tracking of status of accomplishment of deliverables.
  • Provide any other technical support as may be required.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences, Statistics, Epidemiology, Public Health, or related field.
  • Strong organizational skills, understanding the importance of paying attention to details.
  • Computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with diverse staff, clients, and consultants.
  • Demonstrated integrity, confidentiality, and approachability.
