Invitation for Applications

The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria MLSCN invites applications from interested and suitably qualified candidates from both the public and private sectors for the position of Registrar Chief Executive Officer.

The MLSCN is a national regulatory agency under the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare established by Act 11 of 2003 and charged with regulating the training and practice of Medical Laboratory Science in Nigeria.

1 Job Title
Registrar Chief Executive Officer

2 Qualifications and Experience

i Candidates must possess a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science BMLS degree and or Associate of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria AMLSCN
ii Must be a Fellow of MLSCN in public or private practice with not less than fifteen 15 years post qualification experience in Medical Laboratory Science
iii Must be a registered Medical Laboratory Scientist with MLSCN and possess a current practicing license
iv The position is tenured and applicants sixty 60 years of age and above need not apply
v Knowledge of ICT is an added advantage
vi Administrative qualification and experience are added advantages
vii Candidates must be medically fit
viii Candidates must be of good and proven character

3 Responsibilities

i The Registrar shall be the Chief Executive Officer and Secretary to the Governing Board of the Council
ii Responsible for the day to day running of the Council
iii Shall perform duties of the Council as enshrined in the MLSCN Act 11 2003
iv Responsible for implementing policies formulated by the Board and other extant provisions of the Federal Public Service Rules

4 Salary and Conditions of Service

Salary allowances and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for this category of officer
