The Abia State Civil Service Commission wishes to inform the general public that the Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the positions below:

1. Hospital - Based Consultant

DEPARTMENT

• Surgery: General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT, Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery, Paediatric Surgery, Urology Surgery
• Internal Medicine: Cardiology, Respiratory, Gastroenterology, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Neuroogy, Nephrology and Rheumatology
• Ophthalmology
• Anaesthesiology
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology
• Paediatrics
• Pathology
• Radiology
• Family Medicine

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of an MBBS degree or its equivalent, NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificates.
• Current registration/Practicing License with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
• Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria/West Africa Postgraduate Medical College or its equivalent.
• Research Publications in reputable journal outlets would confer an added advantage.
• Three referee reports must be submitted with the application.

2. Medical/ Dental officers

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) for Dental Officers and an MBBS degree for Medical Officers, NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.
• Current registration/Practicing License.
• Experience from a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate’s former University.

3. Pharmacist

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm). NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.
• Current registration/Practicing License with the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria.
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate’s former University.

4. Medical Laboratory scientist

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (MBLS), NYSC Exemption Certificates.
• Current registration/Practicing License with the Institute of Medical Laboratory Science of Nigeria.
• Three referee reports with at least one from a candidate's former University.

5. Optometrist

REQUIREMENTS:

• Possession of Doctor of Optometry (O.D), NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.  
• Current registration/Practicing License with the General Optical Council of Nigeria.
• Referee reports with at least one from the candidate’s former University Teacher.

6. Nursing Officers

REQUIREMENTS

• NRN, NRM, or equivalent certificate, duly registered with. Nigeria's Nursing and Midwifery Council.  
• SPECIALTY IN Anaesthesia, Paediatrics, Accident and Emergency (ME), Preoperative, Ophthalmology, Psychiatry, ICU, Nephrology, Ophthalmic, Dental, Anaesthesia and Intensive care, ENT, and Orthopaedics will be an added advantage.  
• Possession of a Bachelor of Nursing will be an added advantage.  
• Experience from a Tertiary Institution will be an added advantage.  
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate's former Nursing School.  

7) MEDICAL RADIOGRAPHERS  

REQUIREMENTS:  

• DCR, DIR, B.Sc. or equivalent certificate, NYSC discharge or Exemption Certificate  
• Current registration/practicing License with the Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria  
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate's former University.  

8). DENTAL TECHNOLOGIST /DENTAL THERAPIST REQUIREMENTS  

• B. Tech certification and current license from the dental technologists' board of Nigeria  
• NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.  
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate's former University.  

9) PHYSIOTHERAPIST  

• Bachelor of medical rehabilitation or Bachelor of physiotherapy (BMR or B. Physio)  
• Current license by the medical rehabilitation therapist board (MRT  
• NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Certificates.  
• Three referee reports with at least one from the candidate's former University.  

SALARY AND ALLOWANCES The Public Service Structure will determine salary and allowances for all categories of employees.
