Academic Ranks and Requirements

Professor

• Minimum of 20 publications (16 in reputable journals, 4 in foreign indexed journals)
• Supervision of 3 Master's and 1 PhD student

Reader / Associate Professor

• PhD or equivalent
• 15 publications in reputable journals
• Supervision of PhD and Master's students

Senior Lecturer

• PhD or equivalent
• 6 years post-qualification experience
• Minimum of 10 publications

Lecturer I

• PhD or equivalent
• 3 years teaching experience
• Minimum of 4 publications

Lecturer II

• PhD or Master's degree
• Minimum of 2 publications
• 3 years post-qualification experience

Assistant Lecturer

• Good second-class honours or Master's degree
• For medical colleges: MBBS, B.Pharm, BSc Nursing plus professional registration

B. Non-Teaching Staff Positions

Director of Health Services

• MBBS plus 15 years post-registration experience
• Proven leadership and integrity

Medical Officer

• MBBS plus NYSC or exemption certificate

Pharmacy Intern

• BPharm with full registration
• NYSC or exemption certificate

Medical Laboratory Scientist

• BMLS plus registration with IMLTN
• NYSC or exemption certificate

Medical Records Officer

• National Certificate or Diploma in Medical Records

Medical Laboratory Technician

• WASC/SSCE plus 3 years training
• Registration with IMLTN

Conditions of Service

As obtainable in Nigerian universities and approved by the Governing Council of Federal University of Lafia.
