Job Title: Medical Laboratory Scientist

Location: Lagos, Nigeria

 

About the Job

• We are seeking for an experienced candidate who will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic tests critical to the evaluation and treatment of cardiovascular conditions.
• You will ensure the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of laboratory results in compliance with established standards and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine and specialized test.
• Operate and maintain advanced laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and quality control procedures are followed.
• Analyze, interpret, and validate test results to ensure timely delivery to physicians and consultants.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records within the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols, infection control, and standard laboratory practices.
• Participate in internal quality assurance programs and external proficiency testing.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and medical staff to support accurate clinical diagnoses and treatment plans.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a recognized institution.
• Valid practicing license from the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
• Minimum of 1-3 years post-NYSC experience in a hospital laboratory (experience in a cardiac or specialist hospital is an advantage).
• Proficiency in hematology, clinical chemistry, and immunoassay techniques.
• Familiarity with modern laboratory technologies and LIS systems.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and excellent communication skills.
