- The role of the Medical Laboratory Scientist is crucial, in performing an array of tests and analyses that contribute to accurate patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory tests and analyses on samples like blood, urine and tissue to aid in disease diagnosis, treatment and prevention.
- Collect patient samples while ensuring labelling and handling to preserve sample integrity.
- Adhere to quality control and quality assurance protocols by maintaining equipment and performing calibration as required.
- Interpret test results accurately preparing reports for healthcare providers.
- Operate, maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and equipment effectively.
- Follow all safety regulations and compliance standards, including infection control measures.
- Implement sound housekeeping procedures, And work effectively with others as a member of the team to ensure a safe working environment in accordance with safety protocols
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field. (Master's degree is a plus).
- Relevant certification or licensure as a Medical Laboratory Scientist.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instruments, and quality control.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in conducting tests and reporting results.
- Effective communication skills for interaction with healthcare providers and team members.
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and critical thinking skills.
- Adherence to ethical and safety standards in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
