The Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors NARD has rejected in its entirety the circular on review of hazard allowance from the office of the executive chairman, national salaries, income, and wages commission NSIWC
Whilst acknowledging the efforts of the federal government in improving the welfare of health workers, they noted that the circular was a far cry from the final position of NMA/NARD in the last meeting with the federal government
They called for the implementation of the content o the NMA/NARDs final position on percentage and the rate for hazard allowance which is designed to avoid another unnecessarily lengthy and tortuous negotiation process in future. They demanded as follows:
1. NYSC Doctors/ House officers - 25% at step 1
2. CONMESS 2 - 24% at step 2
3. CONMESS 3 - 18% at step 2
4. CONMESS 4-7 - 15% at step 9
