NDDC Post-Graduate (Master’s Degree) Scholarships 2025/2026: Now Accepting Applications

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) is once again offering its Foreign Post-Graduate Scholarship Programme for the 2025/2026 academic session. This initiative aims to equip young professionals with the training and skills necessary for effective participation in local and international development programs. The scholarship allows candidates to specialize in their respective fields and remain competitive in the global workforce. 

Eligible Disciplines 

The scholarship is open to qualified applicants who hold a Bachelor’s Degree in the following fields: 

  • 1. Agricultural Science 
  • 2. Engineering 
  • 3. Environmental Science 
  • 4. Geosciences 
  • 5. Information Technology 
  • 6. Medical Sciences 
  • 7. Law 
  • 8. Architecture 

Eligibility Criteria 

To qualify, applicants must be from the Niger Delta Region and hold a First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower Division Bachelor’s Degree. Additionally, applicants must not be older than 40 years. 

The scholarship selection process follows a structured procedure: 

  • 1. Online Application: Interested candidates must submit an application via the NDDC website (www.nddc.gov.ng). 
  • 2. Preliminary Shortlisting: Candidates will be shortlisted based on their WAEC/NECO results and undergraduate degree classification (First Class, Second Class Upper, or Lower). 
  • 3. Local Government Identification: Candidates must provide proof of their local government origin. 
  • 4. Computer-Based Test (CBT): Shortlisted candidates will undergo a computer-based test conducted by NDDC consultants in Rivers State. 
  • 5. Merit Shortlisting: Candidates must achieve a minimum test score of 70% to proceed to the next stage. 
  • 6. Final Verification: The final list of candidates will be vetted by the Local Government Area (LGA) and Community Development Committee (CDC). 

Applicants must submit their applications online through the NDDC website. Required documents include: 

  • - Recent passport photograph 
  • - Local Government Identification Letter 
  • - Post-Graduate admission letter from a recognized overseas university 
  • - Relevant degrees from recognized universities 
  • - NYSC Discharge or Exemption Certificate 

Upon completion of the application form, an automated registration number will be generated. Applicants are advised to print and retain the acknowledgment slip for future reference. 

The deadline for submission is April 21, 2025, which is four weeks from the date of the advert’s first publication on March 24, 2025. 

Important Notes 

  • - NDDC will not communicate with candidates who are not shortlisted for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) or those who fail the oral interviews. 
  • - Preference will be given to candidates from oil-producing communities and local government areas, provided they meet the required criteria. 
  • - The selection process is final, and no changes to the chosen course or institution will be allowed.

The scholarship amount will be determined based on the prevailing exchange rate of the Naira.
