The Nigerian Air Force invites applications for the 2025 Direct Short Service Commission (DSSC) Enlistment Exercise. This opportunity is open to qualified Nigerian citizens across various professional fields.
Important Notice:
The application process is free of charge. No payment should be made at any point throughout the exercise.
Registration Period:
Online registration begins on 27 August 2025 and closes on 7 October 2025.
General Instructions for Applicants
- Nationality: Applicants must be Nigerian citizens by birth.
- Age: Applicants must be between 20 and 32 years. Medical Doctors (consultants) may be between 25 and 40 years. Serving personnel seeking Branch Commission are not eligible.
- Serving Personnel: Must be recommended by their Commanding Officer/Commander, have served for 10 years, and attained the rank of Corporal.
- Height: Minimum height is 1.66m for males and 1.63m for females.
- Medical Fitness: Applicants must be medically, physically, and psychologically fit and meet NAF standards.
Local Government Area Attestation Form
This form must be signed by one of the following:
- A military officer from the applicant’s state, not below Wing Commander or equivalent.
- An officer of the rank of Assistant Commissioner and above.
- A substantive Local Government Chairman/Secretary.
- A Magistrate from the applicant’s state of origin.
The form must be accompanied by:
- Passport photograph of the signee.
- Photocopy of the signee’s Driver’s Licence, National ID Card, or International Passport.
Presentation of Original Credentials
Successful applicants must present the following during the Selection Interview:
- Two recent passport photographs stamped and countersigned.
- Original and photocopy of Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age.
- Original and photocopy of Educational/Professional Certificates.
- Original and photocopy of Indigeneship Certificate.
- Original and photocopy of Attestation to Good Character.
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must not have any criminal convictions.
- Impersonation or submission of false documents will lead to disqualification and prosecution.
- Valid email addresses and phone numbers must be provided in the application form.

Selection Process
- Zonal General Aptitude Test will be held on a date to be announced.
- Only successful applicants will be invited for the Selection Interview via the portal, email, or phone.
Academic/Professional Qualifications
- Minimum of Second Class Upper Division for degree holders and Upper Credit for HND holders.
- MSc/MA and computer literacy are added advantages.
- Membership of relevant professional bodies is also an advantage.
- Credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, and three other relevant subjects are required.
- NYSC Discharge Certificate or Exemption Letter must be presented.
Medical Applicants
Must possess registration certificates with relevant statutory professional bodies.
- Medical/Dental: MBBS, MBChB, or BDS from NUC-accredited universities and a valid MDCN license.
- Therapeutics/Diagnostics/Medical Support Services:
- Radiography: Bachelor of Radiography and RRBN license.
- Optometry: Doctor of Optometry and ODORBN license.
- Physiotherapy: BSc or Doctor of Physiotherapy and MRTB license.
- Clinical Psychology: BSc or MSc and registration with NPA/NACP.
- Biomedical Engineering: BEng or HND.
Nursing Specialties
Applicants must possess BSc or HND Nursing and a valid NMCN license in any of the following areas:
