We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: Nutrition Analyst

Location: Abuja (FCT)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development and review of information, education and communication (IEC) materials that will be used for awareness creation, sensitization and the promotion of desired behaviour change specific to dietary and hygiene practices amongst ALDDN beneficiaries
  • Work with the Admin team to facilitate the production of relevant IEC materials such as banners and posters, and coordinate their dispatch to the various programme locations
  • Support the development of a key message booklet and coordinate the mainstreaming of specific and relevant nutrition key messages into other programme interventions and activities
  • Conduct regular check-ins with the field team and garden champions to assess the status of vegetable garden plots, ensure adherence to implementation guidelines and identify possible challenges or issues
  • Support the development of implementation guides and key messages and also support the coordination of activities necessary to successfully conduct cooking competitions in selected programme communities
  • Develop radio programme scripts based on a specific diet and hygiene-related topics to address perceived barriers and social norms that influence the desired behaviour change
  • Support the development of community workshop facilitation guides based on specific topics, gaps and pain points of interest
  • Collate all data sheets, forms and tools from the extension workers after every community workshop and support the analysis and interpretation of the information obtained from the beneficiaries
  • Develop guidelines and coordinate the implementation of awareness campaigns across the programme sites which target key dietary diversity and hygiene-related topical areas that are affected by social and cultural norms that limit behaviour change
  • Support with planning and development of social media content for nutrition events that are relevant to ALDDN or Sahel Consulting i.e. agriculture and hygiene-related events and campaigns such as World Milk Day, World Food Day etc.
  • Conduct intermittent virtual (phone calls) and physical interviews/check-ins with community champions
  • Support with the planning of nutrition events that are relevant to ALDDN or Sahel Consulting i.e. agriculture and hygiene-related events and campaigns such as World Milk Day, World Food Day etc.
  • Conduct frequent follow-ups with the field team to ensure that implementation activities are carried out within set timelines and according to stipulated standards
  • Develop weekly progress reports to be shared with the programme team
  • Support the provision of training to the field team to improve their capacity to implement and monitor nutrition intervention activities at the various programme locations
  • Work with the M&E team to develop and deploy data collection tools, track nutrition intervention activities at the various programme locations and conduct effectiveness surveys to assess the progress of behaviour change amongst the programme beneficiaries
  • Prepare monthly Payment Advice for CHEWs based on verified reports and data on the first day of the next month.
  • Other duties as assigned and agreed upon by the supervisor and the Sahel management.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 1 year experience.
