About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Optometrist to join our growing eye care practice in Owerri Imo state, Nigeria.  

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing eye examinations, diagnosing vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or other treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive eye and vision examinations
• Diagnose and manage ocular diseases and conditions
• Provide pre- and post-operative care to patients undergoing eye surgeries
• Educate patients on proper eye care, hygiene, and preventive practices
• Maintain accurate patient records and collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed
• Recommend and refer patients for specialized treatment where necessary

 

Qualifications and Requirements

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) Degree from a recognized institution
• Valid practicing license from the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN)
• Minimum of 5 years post-NYSC clinical experience preferred
• Excellent diagnostic and clinical skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to patient-centered care and continuous professional development

 

Preferred Attributes:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Willingness to occasionally travel for outreach or mobile eye clinics.
