Job Title: Pharmacologist - Supply Chain Manager

Location: Warri, Delta

Position Overview

  • We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual with 5 - 7 years of proven experience in pharmaceutical procurement.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, strong negotiation skills, and a track record of effectively managing supplier relationships.
  • As a Pharmacological / Pharmacy Procurement Manager, you will play a key role in optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical products, and driving cost efficiencies across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of pharmaceutical items.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships to ensure the highest quality products at the best possible prices.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including pharmacists, clinicians, and inventory managers, to forecast demand, assess inventory levels, and identify procurement needs.
  • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and industry developments to inform procurement decisions and mitigate risks.
  • Oversee the procurement process from requisition to delivery, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and quality standards.
  • Analyze procurement data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement, cost savings, and operational efficiencies.
  • Stay abreast of advancements in pharmaceutical technology, manufacturing practices, and supply chain management to drive innovation and competitive advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5 - 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical procurement, preferably in a healthcare or pharmaceutical organization.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical products, market dynamics, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and driving cost savings initiatives.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software/systems.
