Job Title: Quality Control Executive
Locations: Sagamu, Ogun and Lagos

Job Purpose
- The role of the Quality Control Executive is to support the activities of the Laboratories, by undertaking physico-chemical testing of chemical and materials, method validation, and method development whilst providing leadership and direction to more junior staff.
- The successful candidate will need to work effectively as part of a large and busy team.
Key Responsibilities
- Analysis of samples e.g. over-the-counter medicines, antibiotics, and packing material using instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, Mid IR, UV spectroscopy, wet chemistry, and GC/LC-MS
- Drafting analytical reports/methods and safety assessments
- Running and interpreting analytical data for validation and quality control
- Adhering and contributing to an effective quality system, ensuring work complies with ISO standards
- Routine maintenance, daily performance checks and periodic calibration of equipment
- Checking work of other Analysts
- Day-to-day laboratory housekeeping
- Leading projects and organising staff to ensure key performance indicators are met
- Supporting general lab activities and delivery as required.
Knowledge, Experience, and Technical Skills
- B.Sc or HND in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Science Laboratory Technology (SLT) or any Science related courses
- A minimum of 5 years cognate experience as an In-process Quality Assurance Officer in a reputable Pharmaceuticals organization
- High drive and interest in taking on new tasks.
- Strong analytical skills and interpersonal skills.
- Well-organized and result oriented.
- You will have a sound background in Chemistry, to at least degree level, with theoretical knowledge of HPLC, GC, IR, UV spectrometry and titration. Practical experience in the use of at least two of these techniques is desirable.
- You will be a well-organized and self-motivated worker with a high degree of tenacity for solving technical problems.
- Your practical work should be methodical, tidy, and accurate.
- Your computing skills should include a familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- You should have good written and verbal communication skills, and will be expected to keep full and neat work records.
- The laboratory is accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 and a good understanding of the principles and operation of quality systems would be an advantage.
- Keep a clear and organised bench, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Demonstrate an ability to work flexibly and be adaptable to change.
