Registrar/Chief Executive Officer at The Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration of Nigeria

The Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN) is an Agency of the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria (Established by Decree No. 34 of 1989, now CAP 09 LFN 2004) and the Statutory Regulatory Agency for Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians in Nigeria. 

Job Title: Registrar / Chief Executive Officer 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Registrar is the Head of the Secretariat and Chief Executive Officer of the Board. 

He / She shall be the Secretary to the Board and shall perform the duties of this office as stipulated in the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians (Registration etc) Act. 2004.

REQUIREMENTS

  1. Candidates must possess a Degree in Optometry (Doctor of Optometry (O.D) or relevant field of study from an accredited University
  2. Possession of postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields will be an added advantage
  3. Be a registered Optometrist and Dispensing Optician and have a current practing license
  4. The position is tenured and those who are Sixty (60) years of age and above need not apply. 
  5. Administrative qualification and experience is an added advantage
  6. Have a minimum of Ten (10) year post qualification experience 
  7. Knowledge of I.C.T will be an added advantage 
  8. Candidates must be medically fit (Attach Evidence)
  9. Candidates must be of proven good character and integrity
  10. Evidence of Medical Research is an added advantage 

SALARY AND CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

Salary and conditions of service shall be in accordance with the Public Service Salary Structure for the category of Officer and as may be contained in the ODORBN conditions of service.
