Job Title: Resident Medical Officer (Oncology)

Location: Ebonyi
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Summary

  • We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Resident Medical Officer to join our Oncology team in Ebonyi State. As a Resident Medical Officer, you will provide high-quality patient care under the supervision of consultant oncologists. You will be responsible for managing patients with various types of cancer, participating in treatment planning, and contributing to the advancement of cancer care in our institution.

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care with Conducting patient interviews and physical examinations:

  • Documenting patient information and medical history
  • Administering chemotherapy and other treatments
  • Monitoring patient progress and reporting concerns

Assist consultant oncologists with treatment planning and implementation:

  • Ward rounds and clinics
  • Surgical procedures and emergencies
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care

Maintain accurate and timely records, including Patient notes and charts:

  • Treatment plans and medication orders
  • Laboratory and test results

Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including Nurses and midwives:

  • Laboratory and radiology staff
  • Pharmacists and therapists
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audits
  • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent)
  • 2 - 4 years work experience.
  • Registration with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
  • Completion of internship program
  • Strong clinical and communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Familiarity with Nigerian healthcare regulations and standards

Qualifications:

  • Post-graduate certification in Oncology or related field
  • Experience in cancer care or research
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in Oncology
