Halifield School - Founded in 1996, Halifield School was initially situated on Salami Street, Mende until 2003 when it relocated to its permanent premises on Oki Lane, Maryland, Lagos. In 2009, Halifield commenced a secondary school which is a preparatory ground for university entry and a grooming centre for adolescents.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Title: School Nurse / House Parent

Location: Maryland, Lagos

Employment Type: Full-time

Reports to: Hostel Supervisor

Supervises: Boarding Students

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provide education about diagnosis, treatment of medical conditions and appropriate preventive measures.
• Access real or potential health hazards within the environment.
• Evaluates outcome of nursing care.
• Check vital statistics of patients in readiness for medical diagnosis
• Provide medical care, limited to first aid, for the sick and injured.
• Manage medical information and medical history of students and staff.

House Parents Duties:

• Ensure the safety of all boarders and maintain discipline.
• Maintain hostel facilities and equipment and report any damage.
• Ensure that boarding schedules are followed rigorously.
• Ensure that living and hygienic standards are constantly maintained in the hostel.
• Accompany students on weekend outings.

Key Performance Indicators

• Students’ satisfaction
• Parents’ satisfaction
• Degree of cleanliness

Education and Work Experience

• First Degree in Nursing.
• Five (5) years post qualification experience.

Skills and Competences:

• Practical nursing skills
• Experience of general domestic and support work
• Ability to deal with pre-teens and teenagers.
• Good sense of judgment and fairness to all
• Ability to develop plans to change situations
• Ability to read and interpret a wide range of information.
• Good communication and observation skills.
• Team spirit.
• Ability to deal with emotionally charged situations.
• Excellent people skills.

Remuneration

N80,000 - N100,000 Monthly.
