Abt Associates, a global leader in technical assistance, program implementation, and research, seeks qualified candidates for an upcoming USAID·funded malaria control project in Nigeria. The project will focus on malaria in pregnancy, case management. and health systems strengthening in a number of states across the country. All positions are contingent upon project award and funding, anticipated in summer of 2016.

Deputy Chief of Party:
Under the supervision of the Chief of Party, assists in developing and implementing innovative approaches to strengthening the capacity of Nigerian institutions and communities to deliver quality, malaria services. The DCap provides management and technical oversight for project staff, with particular focus on the staff and operations at state level. Provides direct technical oversight and supports project activities across the project's key technical areas. Assists project teams to develop and implement innovative approaches to capacity building. Supports project staff to ensure a high quality transfer of skills and knowledge to Nigerian institutions and communities. Works closely with other project managers to ensure a cohesive and , integrated approach across project activities.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree with at least 13-15 years of relevant experience, particularly in malaria control and care.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior technical position for a pubtlc health and/or international development project, with experience at a USAID-funded project highly desirable.
- Significant experience in Nigeria, and able to demonstrate thorough knowledge of specific health priorities.
- Expertise in programming in malaria control projects or other relevant technical area.
