Abt Associates, a global leader in technical assistance, program implementation, and research, seeks qualified candidates for an upcoming USAID·funded malaria control project in Nigeria. The project will focus on malaria in pregnancy, case management. and health systems strengthening in a number of states across the country. All positions are contingent upon project award and funding, anticipated in summer of 2016. 
 
Position: Technical Director
Responsible for technical oversight of malaria treatment and prevention activities. Collaborates effectively with national, state and local government agencies and officials local and community organizations; and other Partner to support activities essential to malaria prevention and treatment in Nigeria. Contributes to the strategy for and oversees the implementation of the project's activities including malaria in pregnancy, case management, and health systems strengthening. Provides general technical and leadership support to national agencies in malaria case management, including developing case management tools and participating in technical working groups. 
 
Qualifications: 
  1. Medical Degree, DVM or MPH/PhD. 
  2. Strong background in malaria in pregnancy, case management, and/or malaria epidemiology preferred. 
  3. At least 10 years of experience implementing malaria projects in developing, countries. 
  4. Ability to independently plan and execute complex technical tasks while addressing daily management details and remaining organized and focused on long-term deadlines and strategy.
