The Ondo State University of Medical Sciences was recently established to provide exceptional quality and comprehensive health care and integrated education and research in all medically-related sciences.
Applications are hereby invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions in the Ondo State University of Medical Sciences Ondo City, Ondo State, Nigeria.
1. Faculty of Science
Professors, Readers, Senior lecturers, Lecturers I and II, Assistant lecturers in the Departments of Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.
2. Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences
Professors, Readers, Senior lecturers, Lecturers I and II, Assistant lecturers in the Departments of Nursing, Physiotherapy and Medical Rehabilitation.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Professor and Reader:
* Candidates must have not less than ten (10) years of teaching and Research experience in a University.
* He/ She must possess Doctorate degree in the Sciences or Fellowship degrees in Medicine/Medical Science Courses.
* The possession of requisite basic degrees that are registerable by different professional bodies is required for those applying to related Faculties and Departments.
* The ability to initiate and direct research projects, the possession of reasonable administrative experience and substantial scholarly publications in reputable journals are important considerations.
Senior Lecturer / Senior Research Fellow: * Candidates must have at least (6) years of teaching and Research experience in a University, in addition to the basic and postgraduate qualifications listed above.
* The candidates must have substantial publications in reputable journals, and have the ability to initiate research and to mentor junior staff and students.
Lecturer (GRADE I&II):
* Candidates must have at least a Second Class (Lower Division) Honours Degree/MBBS or BchD and in addition to the basic and postgraduate qualifications listed above.
* He/She must have at least three (3) years experience in teaching and Research in a University or an equivalent institution, with some Published articles in reputable Journals.
* Candidates with good MBBS or BchD degrees can only seek Lecturer II positions in the non-clinical Departments.
* They must show proof of additiogal scholarship and willingness to participate in research in the Departments they are applying to.
Assistant Lecturer:
* Candidates must have at least a Second Class (Upper Division) Honours Degree and in addition, a Masters degree in relevant discipline.
