Stakeholders in the health sector in a symposium organised by the Bigeria Association of Pharmacists in Academia (NAPA), Faculty of Pharmacy, Univerisity of Lagos recently called for sustained collaboration among practilioners in the sector:

Speaking at the occasion at Idi-Araba campus of the institution, the Pro-Chancellor of Calab University, Prof Fola tayo, stressed the need for collaboration among healthcare givers, adding that "no man is a citadel of knowledge, hence the requirement of expertise and specialisation of another to compliment in area of deficiency.

"Students and teachers need to appreciate that our knowledge is necessarily linited must appreciate and respect the expertise of one another in practice, and seek for aid, when necessary, to curb their individual disabiling inadequacies,"he said 

Prof Tayo who is also a former Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy of the university proposed that the curriculum of schools of medical sciences should be adjusted to include "collaboration and respect for the individual."

He called for the refurbishment of the health care system of the country which, according to him, has been marred by prevailing ignorance and undue competition among administrators and practitioners.

Prof Jane Ajuluchukwu from the Faculty of Pharmacy equally opined that further trainings and intellectual advancement for pharmacists would enhance their professional credibility among their inter-sectoral colleagues.

On her part, the Dean of Basic Medical Sciences; 

Prof olufunmi Adeyemi, expressed her desire for the sustenance of the programme and appreciated the Dean of Pharmacy, Prof. Olukemi Odukayo for resuscitated the Dean of Pharmacy, Prof Olukemi Odukayo for resuscitating NAPA
