Muhammad Kawuyo, a doctor with the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, kidnapped last Sunday, has been released by his abductors. Sources close to the victim told our reporter on telephone that he was released after a substantial amount was paid as ransom. “A a handsome amount of N1.4m was paid before he was released,” the source said.
Information available to The NAN said Kawuyo was kidnapped around 4am on Sunday at gunpoint. Chairman, Adamawa State chapter of Nigeria Medical Association, Dr Tounde Elijah, confirmed the release of the doctor.
