Afrihealth Information Projects/Afrihealth Optonet Association is a Health and Community Systems strengtheningnational network of civil society organisations [CSOs] and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs). It is a not-for-profit, non-religious and non-governmental organization (NGO) with membership of 600 community-based organizations, groups and stakeholders in the 36 States of Nigeria and the Federal Capital Territory and global south. It is involved in prevention, treatment, impact mitigation, care and support for HIV/AIDS (ART, eMTCT, HBC, HCT, OVC, PLHIV), TB, FP/RH and Malaria, Vaccinations/Immunizations, Preventing/Controlling Poverty-Related Diseases; Nutrition and Food Security; Energy and Environment; and Empowerment, Gender, Good Governance and Human Rights. 

In commemoration of Nigeria's centenary anniversary, Afrihealth will on Monday, 31March 2014; make a public presentation of ‘HEALTH CHAMPIONS ONE HUNDRED' – itspublication on one hundred entities (individuals, communities,organizations/companies/societies, governments, civil society and development partners) - dead or alive, Nigerian or foreign – who have contributted to the enthronement of a “state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing, andnot just the absence of diseases and infirmities†in Nigeria; during the past one hundred years. That is the best one hundred entities that positively influenced

Health in Nigeria, in the last one hundred years. It will also present the CENTENARY HEALTH CHAMPIONS AWARDS to certain entities who have contributed in like manner. The public presentation of ‘Health Champions One Hundred' and presentation of the ‘Centenary Health Champions Awards' shall hold in Transcorp Hilton Abuja.

All nominations shall address the following:

Name, current or last Position and organization of the nominee Full contact information of the nominee or next of kin for nominees who have died orceased to exist (email, phone, postal address, office address, website, blog) Brief description of the nominee Justification for the nomination, i.e. why is this nominee among the mostinfluential/best one hundred things that happened to Health in Nigeria, in the lastone hundred years 

The Centenary Health Champions Selection Committee has been set up outsideAFRIHEALTH, to assess all nominations and recommend eligible awardees based on merit and stated criteria.

The profiles and achievements of the Centenary Health Champions shall be publishedin a book titled “Health Champions One Hundredâ€. 

The public presentation of ‘Health Champions One Hundred' and presentation of the ‘Centenary Health Champions Awards' shall hold in Transcorp Hilton Abuja on Monday, 31 March 2014.
