Annual General Meeting and Conference of the Nigerian Association of Dermatologists

In July 2016, the city of Abuja, Nigeria plays host to the 1st Scientific Conference of the African Society of Dermatology and Venereology (ASDV). This meeting will be held in conjunction with the 10th annual scientific conference of the Nigerian Association of Dermatologists (NAD). 
 
This is a gathering of immense scale that brings together the brightest of minds of dermatology in Africa. It will take place from the 12th – 16th of July 2016 at the Sheraton Abuja Hotel, Abuja, Nigeria. The conference will have African and International healthcare practitioners in the field of dermatology and related specialties, researchers and policy makers in attendance. Sessions will include panel discussions, symposia, free communications, industrial symposia and residents’ forum. 
 
A pre-conference workshop for dermatologists will include basic surgical skills, cosmetic dermatology and dermatopathology. Breakout sessions for hairdressers, manicurists and cosmetologists will precede the main conference and will take place in June 2016.
 
The event boasts of over 20 distinguished speakers, over 300 international participants, over 50 pharmaceuticals, 5 symposia and 3 break out sessions.
 
Conference Objectives
1. Provide an avenue of communication for policy makers, implementers, practitioners and indeed ALL stakeholders in industry
2. Discuss the impact of existing policies on skin care and their implementation on clinical decision-making and management.
3. Assist practitioners in the field of dermatology; incorporate the most recent scientific, evidence based innovations and technology into their everyday practice
4. Discuss practical, patient centered, cost effective approaches to dermatological practice in the African sub region with a view to the provision of accessible, affordable, high quality dermatological services.
